Thanksgiving in Utah 08'

This year since Mom and Dad Meikle are still on there mission, it was once again my turn to spend Thanksgiving with my side of the family. But this year we had Thanksgiving down in Utah at my Aunt MaryAnne's house in Highland. ((We spent the nights at my Uncle Brian's home in Springville)). It turned out to be a good break from school plus one evening we went to Temple Square to see the new lights be turned on. Plus a nice visit to Landon's parents.

I'm Offical...2nd Grade Here I Am!!!

I feels so good to finally be done with a thousand classes and to being doing a job that I love every day. It's true that some days are better then others, but I can also honestly say that I have never had any other job that I have cared about so much and the I find so much fulfillment out of. I'm teaching out in Shelley at Sunrise Elementary school. It's a newer building so it still in good condition. Plus I have my own classroom projector!!! Good bye the days of overheads!!! ((Maybe only other teachers would understand my excitement on that one...)) But right now I have 22 kids. And I teaching with seven other 2nd grade teachers. It makes it nice because I'm always borrowing and asking for new ideas. The only job I would trade for this one would be to become a full time mom!

Treasure Mountain Boy Scout Camp--Summer 08'

After working a few months at our regular summer job, Landon and I decided that we needed a change and applied to work at Treasure Mountain Boy Scout Camp for the summer! ((6 weeks from the end of June to the beginning to August)). Landon was one of four commissioner to help run the camp and I was the director of the trading post. It was some of the longest hours I've ever put in for a job but it was the best summer job I have ever had as well. Actually I even had a few boys as for my number! ((Ha, I guess I still have the looks...)) Anyways it was good to spend the time away together and I learned so much about Landon and how camp really helped shape him into the man he is today. We probably won't go back next summer, too many boy in my opinion--I need women to be around! But I would never trade that time and will treasure that time up there in the beautiful mountains.

Jimmy Eat World Concert

When we heard that Jimmy Eat World was coming to Idaho we had to get tickets! They played in Pocatello the day after my graduation. We had a the time of our lives listening to them and another band called Paramore. We even had a little fun trying to play dress up by spiking Landon's hair and wearing all black. It was my first concert and it was well worth it.

Graduation...Finally!

It was weird to think that after 16 years of schooling that it is over. Well kind of, now I can switch roles and be the teacher instead of the student! But it was so exciting to be there and feel that closure that I couldn't stop smiling. It was also wonderful to see all the people I had classes with and to listen to Elder Ballard speak. And oddly enough it was about the need to spread the gospel through the internet. It just feels great to end one chapter in my life and continue on in another.

1st Anniversary Trip: SLC

We could hardly believe it but a full year has already come and gone with us being married. We think that it is funny that people say that the first year is the worst or hardest because it has only been wonderful. So if that saying is true...Bring it on! To celebrate our marriage and to more fully enjoy general conference, we decided to head down to SLC to enjoy the weekend. Between shopping, seeing Mom and Dad, Watching Saturday Morning conference in the center, we had a full fun week. We were also glad to see some signs of spring...Idaho still had snow at the time.

Student Teaching

I can't believe it but it is already time for my last semester of school and for student teaching! This picture was taken the morning I was about to head out the door. Landon couldn't help but take my first day of school photo. I am student teaching out in Ammon at a school named Hillview. I'm with Mrs. Charles who teaches 6th grade. The school is about 50 years old so it is smaller and a little run down then most. Also each grade has its own building so I hardly ever interact with other teachers or other grades which is kind of a bummer since I want to take in as much as I can. I'm so excieted though!!!
